"Drawing"

6 x 6"

I don't paint many kids - it's tough, I think. This pose was so natural, the slouch, the loose hair, the light from the left. I really wanted to paint her.

This was a young lady in a drawing class held in the High Museum of Art in Atlanta.

I like the natural pose -- there's such a relaxed feeling with this one. What great colors too, I agree with the light from the left.

What a beauty! Reminds me of that feeling when it was near the summer school break and you good feel the summer breeze through the school room window. Doodling, not paying attention and longing for that school break. Great painting!.

Beautiful. It has such a luminous quality to it that adds to the overall mood of it. Maybe daydreaming of her potential and greatness through her art.

Wonderful how you've created a sense of luminous light with that deceptively simple, painterly background.
