"Easter"

4 x 8"
oil on masonite

Sometimes I have a quiet evening when I know I'm only in the mood to paint something quick and loose - a study of sorts. I spotted this little girl on Easter morning, outside of a nearby church - a perfect little subject to practice painting children. I also did a little head study you'll see tomorrow.

I love the "moment in time" aspect of this painting, helped by your beautiful, visible brush strokes.

Yes, the looseness of this piece is wonderful!

Love it - it brings good memories back of an Easter I spent in Washington DC and a picnic I saw at a nearby church.

Love the reds in her skin and bow and her nonchalant posture. Really nice little painting! Can't wait to see the head study.
