More Dogs Rule

Three more dogs to add to the set - what fun these are to paint. The bassett hounds at the top were spotted in a park in Manhattan - the dachsund in the middle is the late and great "Dewey" who belonged to a good friend - and the red hound (don't know the breed) was spotted in Piedmont Park in Atlanta.

All nice but the top piece has a charm all of it's own. It must be those lovely reds.

This is my first time commenting on your work although I have been watching your blog for sometime now. I must say you are one of my favorite painters and I look forward to every new post.

This new series of dog paintings is wonderful. I especially like the painting of Dewey. You have inspired me to do what my wife has been trying to get me to do for some time--paint our dachshund "Leibshon". Thanks and best wishes for you and your upcoming show.

These are fantastic as is all of your work. I love them and can't help but smile seeing all of their personalities.

You captured one of those special dog moments when you caught "Dewey's" expression. It is a true 'older' doxie L@@K!

Ohhhh - these are SO wonderful! Dogs just make life worth living. The "hound" is a Viszla. I know because I've had 2 of them - the first was Bradel (rest his soul), and the second is Sarge (named after John Singer). There isn't a thing in this world (my husband would hate to hear me say it...) that rivals the love for my dogs. Keep doing these - they're spectacular!

Out of interest, what dogs would prefer what art. For instance would the Bassets consider impressionism of greater importance than cubism, or the Viszla, would he favour Renoir over Seurat? What a dogs life!
