A shout-out to the artists community - Carol and David Marine and their son lost their home in the Bastrop, Texas wildfires on Sunday. Their entire subdivision was wiped out, up to 300 homes. I hear they are all safe, that's great news.
A close family friend, Jennifer, has organized a fund to immediately assist Carol & David - please click here for the details and give what you can to help this family get back on their feet.
~ Thank you all

Karin, I really hope there will be a DPW Challenge to help Carol & David. They've done so much for us--
I agree - it's time to give back.
Karin- Wonderful of you to post this. I think we all want to help out and give back to Carol and David for all they have done for all of us. Let's do it!!
I just went over and read her blog and it makes me sad and giggle at the same time. Sad that they've lost their home and everything in it. I giggle because Carol felt it necessary to save some paintings so she can keep her auctions going and post her daily paintings. Now that's a Texas woman for you.
As for doing a DPW challenge for them, I don't know that you would see one on DPW. They might feel like it is a little self-serving to start something like that. It will have to some from someone else.
I see your point Dave, keep thinking. Meanwhile, the immediate contributions are most important.
Thank you so much for posting this :) It's so good to see the art community taking care of one of its own
Thanks Karin for making us aware of this situation and of the way to donate. The loss of her paintings and her studio make me sick. But, I am so glad that the family is ok.
carol helped me recreate and discover art, she has make such an impact on everyone who comes in contact with her. a DPW challenge in addition to the immediate contributions is a great idea.
