"Old Guard"

6 x 6"
oil on masonite

When I got back to painting a couple of days ago, I realized I was suffering from nitpickyitis - a result of taking some time off. So I warmed up with several mugshots until I loosened up again.
My goal is to complete my series ATL to NYC & Back, continuing on with my walk up 5th Avenue, on the Upper East Side where I spotted an adorable, old Golden Lab loyally waiting at the front door of a townhouse.

Welcome back! You got me with this one. She looks just like my Salty Dog. Labs are the one the best dogs ever when it comes to loyalty. And you captured that beautifully!
Happy New Year!

Wonderful start to the new year, Karin! I do agree with Nancy, you captured the 'essence' and character of this lab.
And I will blame YOU for slowly turning me into a dog person... ;-)
