"Catching a Train"

9 x 12"
oil on masonite

This new painting includes Rene Magritte's 'Time Transfixed' - which hangs in the Modern Wing of the Art Institute of Chicago and is so perfectly placed between two floor-to-ceiling windows where you can look out onto Millennium Park. An evening visit to the museum has such an elegant feel, especially in the Modern Wing. If you haven't been lately, go.

Love the 3D effect of this!

A very nice one, and you included one of my early inspirations, Magritte. A lot of details. =)

I saw Magritte's painting on my last visit to Chicago. Just as you say -- seeing it, especially in the evening, is quite impressive. Your rendition is beautiful, Karin -- and equally impressive!

Good choice to paint a neutral-dressed male figure in "Train Spotting." In my opinion, a colorful, dressy woman in this painting would have felt out of place (but I do *love* your renditions of them). You have such a great eye and sense of space!!
