"Benched At Wrigley"

7 x 5"

I'm starting a fundraising effort for a return trip, in the fall, to my favorite city Chicago.

This taken from the side of the famous Wrigley Building, on Michigan Avenue - a couple of weary tourists resting on the bench in the shade.

More Chicago scenes to follow.  I thank you for your bids.

"That Toddling Town"

I have a great feeling of achievement when I can complete a cityscape like this.  I hold my breath a lot when I tackle the buildings and the traffic.  You can hear me chant 'just keep swimming, just keep swimming' the whole time.

I'm back home and back at it - warming up with this new painting of some fast-paced walkers on the corner of North Michigan and East Chicago Avenue, part of the city's Magnificent Mile.

Chicago is my favorite city, hands down - always filled with energy and always friendly. I must mention, if you haven't been to the Art Institute to experience the new Modern Wing, it is a must-see. You'll notice works of art that have been in storage for too long and a well thought out rearrangement of the collection, proven to be a great way to spend a day or two. Make the trip - you'll absolutely love it.

"X-ing"

Sundays are usually devoted to domestic chores that I've neglected all week. Today I sherked the mundane and devoted my day to the letter X. Crosswalks are a visual obsession with me. Especially on a bright day - where pedestrians create wiggly shadows that fall over the painted stripes. It's a subject that I can play with edges and unexpected colors and I just love that.

"Three Amigos"

12 x 12"

I've had a long, pleasant day of painting - just finished up this new piece which will be included in my July show titled "The People I See". These three friends were chatting it up inside a Starbucks, on Michigan Avenue in Chicago.
