"Bag Lady"

6 x 6"
oil on masonite
sold

Part of my ongoing series ATL to NYC & Back - we took a very cool ride on the Roosevelt Island Tramway where you can get fabulous, elevated views of the city. Brett spotted this lady at a crosswalk, loaded down with shopping bags - a very fun composition of shapes, shadows and forms. My kinda scene.

Love this- front and back of the bag lady's shirt are just magic. Don't you just wonder what is in all the bags- treats for grandkids maybe? Love that her shadow is so small compared to her:) Amazing painting- pure KJ!

I like the saturated color against the grey. The diagonals of the lines and shadow creates a dynamics composition

Spot ON, dead RIGHT - I can NOT wait to get to your workshop to observe and learn how you take a simple figure you would see anywhere and make such a powerful statement with your composition and color. LOVE it.

(sorry, I'm in an enthusiastic, *caps* kind of mood)
