"Tiny Dancers"

12 x 12"
oil on masonite
sold

Degas' 'Little Dancer' is always a chick magnet in any museum - the Philadelphia Museum of Art has an unobstructed view of the sculpture, which is quite pleasing. The painting behind the little patron is Monet's 'The Sheltered Path'.

Have a great holiday -

Wow! That is so beautiful. It is so real and lifelike that I would have sworn it was a photograph at first. Keep painting. I really love your work.

Karin, Your work is just so darn likeable--its great art and real art at one fell swoop. I love looking at your take on things and always your titles are a nice punctuation point at the end of a worthwhile look. Love it , Love it!

Karin,
Your paintings are an inspiration to me. I saw "Little Dancer" by Degas when it was in Portland, Oregon.
The tour I was on was sponsored by the Oregon Ballet and it included commentary from members of the ballet. Little ballerinas viewed the sculpture in the same way as the charming girl in your painting. You've captured an amazing moment. Congratulations!

I have heard of the concept of "a photo a day" by photographers, but this is the first time I have seen somebody tackle painting a new piece everyday.

I like your work, and will be checking back often.

Your art creations are inspirational and humbling to us who are learning how to paint! I look at a lot of artist's work, and yours puts me in awe! Thank you for showing that great art flows from the soul, with a lot of hard work, and an insightful intellect.

Love the play between the little girl's stance and the statue. Love how you capture the light and reflections as well.

This is great, Karin! The whole composition is strong. Love the Bronze, the big light curtain, the beautiful pink in the girl's dress, the highlight in her hair. Really beautiful. I can see why it sold so quickly!

Hey Karin, I just discovered your blog...I always check out the daily blog of note. I love your work! I wish I had your talent, but I don't. That's why my degree is in Art History and not Studio Art. It's truely brilliant!

Great work. I have wanted to try something like this, a painting a day [or close to it] for some time. How do you find the time with all of life's obligations?

The composition is perfect. The colors work and the level of detail is spot on. Great piece.

I glanced at the image this morning and thought it was a photograph. Only now, in the evening when I have some time, do I realize it's your painting. Wonderful rendering.
