"Park Central"

9 x 12"
oil on masonite
sold

19 years ago, in the final weeks of his life, my father was taken care of by the Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home, a cancer hospice here in Atlanta. They operate solely on private donations - and I am forever grateful for the help and compassion they gave my dad and our family.

This new painting, a crisp October day in Central Park, New York City, where all kinds of people were enjoying the sun and the shade - will be on auction starting this evening, with 100% of the final sale donated to the Sisters of Our Lady.

This is a stunning painting Karin! What a lovely gesture to donate the proceeds of the sale to those who treated your father so kindly and compassionately.

What a sunny day! Did you notice the shadows form birds' shapes? I hope auction will turn to success.

Karin...what a beautiful work. Full of life and activity. Your greens work well to create the illusion of light filtering through and the shadows create a great pattern of design on the ground surface. Love the isolated figure and the symbolism.

I love the lights and shadows... especially. But the whole thing is beautiful!

a wonderful cause (my father was helped in the latter stages of his illness by a similar organisation), and a wonderfully stunning painting to show your appreciation. r.

Hi! Karen Jurick,
What a very "beautiful"
painting. I can almost smell autumn in the air...and your
use of shadows and lights is
very nice.
I also think that is a very nice "gesture"...donating 100% of the final sale to the Sisters of Our Lady hospice and I am so very happy to read about the help and compassion that they showed to your dad and your family.

Take care!

Stunning. Your greens are awesome, and the foliage shadows almost move with the breeze.

This piece is particularly beautiful and so fitting that this would be auctioned off for them. Well Done.

I have 'lurkingly' (is that a word) been admiring your work for some time. I had to come out to say that I LOVE this painting. The auction is now beyond my reach, but I just love the shadows, the colors. It's wonderful. I know you paint rather quickly, but I'd love to see the process, a few snapshots of the work in progress. Now, back to the shadows with me.
