"Morning Exercise"

6 x 6"
oil on masonite
sold

Before I forget to mention ..... I've finally found the best brand for white and black. I've never been thrilled with any of the many brands I've tried. Made by Daniel Smith Artist Materials, it's their Titanium White - the Ivory Black and the Lamp Black are great too. Thought I'd pass that along.

This new painting is a glimpse into my day. When I have my cup of coffee and my crossword puzzle, all is right with the world.

This is my favorite you have done so far. It is so real and down to Earth.

This painting makes me so happy. I've already spent a while lingering over its juicy detail, and I imagine I'll spend a while more... Your paintings are always an inspiration.

It is so interesting to see this enlarged and see just how simple your shapes are. The newspaper print is wonderful- all those gray "marks" and strokes read newspaper! Great work as always!

This painting is wonderful. Not only is it beautifully done, but it's 2 of my favorite things!

Gorgeous Karin, but I would imagine painting and doing the crossword simultaneously is really slow.

I really like the way you handled the reflections here.

It's funny how we as artists find the particular subtleties of a brand of paint-- stiff, loose, butteryness, tint strength, etc-- fit our particular styles and approaches. I for one am stuck on Winton #40 (titanium)for my white, but love Daniel Smith's burnt sienna above all others...

(nice painting Karin!)
