"Broadside"

9 x 12"

oil on masonite

sold

Happy Thursday everyone. I've had the pleasure of a quiet day with no plans or obligations other than to paint and make supper. This new piece is now added to my personal favorites - mostly because of the placement of the painting and the woman but there are those little, special strokes of color that please me. Hardly visible unless you see it in person, but a little larger of a view can be seen here.

The aura around the figure is lovely, and I like the skinny purse strap for some reason. Great work.

Great composition Karin. The dynamic between the figure and painting on the wall is elastic. Great contrasts too.

Elastic. I like that.

Karin,
I really , really like this one. It's a different take from the usual art patron works since the lady is looking in the opposite direction from the artwork.
She looks like she has 'tude.' ;)
It has nice balance and composition.

Powerful and expressive. Your figures are always full of life and personality.

Your work always impresses me but the composition on this one pushes it over the top. Definitely the best painting of yours I've seen all year.
