The BIG Apple

5th Avenue
sold

I am packing up my car and heading to New York City - I can't help but think how lucky I am to have this opportunity to hold this workshop in a city that is a goldmine of imagery. Last time I was there was 2006, during a record heat wave. How I did it, I'll never know. Despite the heat, it proved to be one of the most inspiring trips I've ever taken.

I plan to post photos all next week, let you know how we're all doing - just keep in touch. So I'll see you back here the beginning of next week.

Happy Trails ~ Karin J

Happy teaching, Karin. I must say that I am not surprised this painting you shared sold. It is fabulous and just so perfectly exhibits city life.

You should take time to take a ride on the Staten Island Ferry. It's free and very picturesque. You will pass the Statue of Liberty en route to Staten Island. The ferry is full of everyday people coming and going, tourists, kids, unfortunates, a lot of subject matter. Once there you have this majestic view of the Manhattan skyline. Well it's just a suggestion, have fun!

Karin,
Another beautifully designed painting! Congratulations. Have fun and know that your ability to inspire reaches all the way to my little town of Scappoose, Oregon.

I am sitting in my NYC office, looking at this painting and thinking "yes, it captures the essence perfectly!" I wish I could have taken the workshop this year, but couldn't swing it. Perhaps next year! Looking forward to seeing your work of NY & I hope you enjoy your visit here!

I have always loved to paint and draw, I have taken some painting lessons and try to paint a little at home. I just recently saw your paintings and they are really amazing, the colours, the light, the concepts.. I love them! You have inspired me so much, THANK you for such beautiful paintings and inspiration. I really hope that I can attend one of your workshops one day. Always looking forward to seeing your next painting.
