"Somebody's Up"

6 x 6"

Also a soothing subject to paint - the quiet and still moments in the night. A row of beach cottages - one household seemingly asleep but with the porch light on for a late arrival - the other with an upstairs guest still up, maybe with a good book.

From Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

Neat painting. I wonder how you light your palette if outdoors.

This is a stunning portrait that captures a warm inviting mood for a night time scene. I noticed that your subjects(particularly here) are beginning to become less illustrative, having a more personal feel. I believe those pieces are your best. I don't subscribe to your blog but I do have you in my Ebay Favorites. When I saw this piece I knew I wanted to bring it home... sadly I was not the highest bidder. Looking forward to more of your work in the future!
