"Bicycle For Two"

6 x 8"
oil on panel
sold

If you keep watch of my beach paintings, most are from Hilton Head Island.  I love it there, I've held workshops there, I belong to a gallery (Morris & Whiteside) there, it's only a 4-1/2 hour drive from home and MOST of all, it's dog-friendly.   We take Zac & Joey with us every chance we get, rent a house near the ocean and LOVE watching them tear ass up and down the beach.   A lot of people take their dogs - and what could be better than that.

This new painting is included in the Small Works Auction taking place this coming Saturday afternoon at the Sylvan Gallery in Charleston.

Charleston Art Auction

I'm still on my painting marathon, doing new works for an upcoming dual show with Ken Auster - opening night is December 7th at the Morris & Whiteside Gallery in Hilton Head.  I hope you'll come by.

And... I'm getting everything ready for my upcoming workshop in Hilton Head which I'm really looking forward to.

Meanwhile.... the Annual Charleston Art Auction will be held a week from Saturday, October 27th - two of my paintings will be included in the auction.

"Hightailing It"

6 x 6"
oil on masonite

Onward with my series ATL to NYC & Back - it was Saturday morning when we awoke to sunshine and quickly got up and at it. As we stepped out into the real world, it was if all of New York City was coming out of hibernation - their first real, sunny, warm day had finally arrived. The dogs looked happier, the bicycle wheels were rolling and we followed the parade to Riverside Park for a morning walk.

"Cruise Control"

8 x 8"
oil on masonite
sold

I'm back in the studio - relaxing from a few days on the road. The lecture by Dan McCaw was inspiring. If you're an artist, and you find yourself stumped or bored or stuck - surround yourself with art for a couple of days. It's good for you. Talking with other painters will enforce the many things we all go through - and looking at art will sometimes fill in the gaps of a creative brain. I usually go off somewhere and see new images and ideas and can't wait to get back to painting.

This scene is taken from an early evening walk on the beach of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

A scene from the beach, somewhat abstract surrounding the woman on the bicycle - I enjoy that about this new piece.
