"Spring Break"

Sometimes I have to really wonder what's wrong with me when I have no desire to paint, I whine that I need inspiration - yadayada.   The news is dismal, violent protests, absurd decisions by juries, weather catastrophes.  It gets to me.

What worked today was a removal from the distractions - Pandora instead of news.  Iced coffee, painting in a t-shirt and shorts for a change.  A nice afternoon.

From Washington Square Park in New York City, a couple of women spending the afternoon removed from distractions.  The original photo is from my friend, Karen Hollingsworth.

"It" gets to me too - you are not alone! Simply going with the ebb and flow itself is a challenge at times, but it always seems to even out. Lovely painting by the way.

I'm just transfixed! I could sit and stare at your work for days, and this is just another in an incredibly long line of masterpieces! I love everything about this and every post I just looked at!!

I don't watch, listen to or read the news. Good for you. We can only change the world by changing ourselves and staying positive and joyful is the first step. Your work brings joy to the world. Amazing!! Thank you!

Are you kidding me? You sound perfectly normal to me :)

Nice painting Karin. I have been having the same problem with painting lately. I went to the Cincinnati Art Museum with friends on Wed. and now I want to paint and draw again. I'm right there with you on the news. Just getting worse and worse.
