"Blond Ambition"

5 x 7"
oil on masonite

I took the same colors as the portrait - just love those yummy, handsome reds and olives together.

From the lobby in the Art Institute of Chicago.

Beautiful! I am curious about what size/type brush you use - not that the type of brush is the secret of your outstanding work, but it is amazing what you manage to fit onto a tiny 5x7 panel. Thanks!

I found your blog by accident and love your work! I noticed your first two quotes are from Hopper and Wyeth which are 2 artists I really enjoy. They have definitely been influences for me as I can tell they have been for you.

Do you prefer masonite to canvas?

I just finished reading the article about you and found it very inspiring. I think artists are always interested in the lives of other artists. I'm looking forward to meeting you in Hilton Head.
