Solace

Painting my sweet Jack today gave me solace. I know there are brighter days ahead, there always is. Thank all of you - for the emails, the comments left, the thoughts - all of it. You must know just how much it matters.

Karin, what a precious painting of a precious family member! My heart goes out to you. I know that Jack is looking down happily at your painting of him.

Karin,

Love it, love it, love it! The more joy that goes into a painting, the more joy comes out of it, and Jack is both your joy and your masterpiece.

Karin, Your painting is as sweet, lovely and touching as the beautiful and heartfelt tribute you paid to Jack a day ago. It is a very rare person indeed who is able to express themselves as masterfully with a paint brush as a pen. The fact that you are able to do both so well right now, and with such purity of heart, speaks legions about your humanity. And it explains why so many of us who read your blog and so admire your work feel such a special kinship with you. We mourn the passing of Jack because we care so very much about you. Be well Karin.

If only our animals lived longer :>( the grief is awful isn't it.

Wonderful painting and so filled with soul. It is so hard to lose a close friend, sometimes we think we can never go through it again, but when we think of all the fun and solace they brought to us and how so many dogs are in need we do it all over again. I have no defenses against www.petfinder.com. We have rescued several dogs from all over the US.
