"Hallelujah"

16 x 5"
oil on masonite

I've wanted to do this painting for a long time - a hallelujah chorus singing in the park, in Washington, DC. Very fun to paint, although it took a while to complete.

Wow, wow, wow! K - this painting is incredible. I can hear them. Love the way you've modeled the faces on each of singer. The time and work put into this is one is so visible. Amazing.

This painting really captures the sense of singing! I am really drawn to how you captured the choir's varied and similiar expressions. Beautiful, as always!

Wonderful - so much on so small a space!

I want to pick up a hymnal and join them. If I stand way at the back they might not notice the squeeky voice.

I want to say that your paintings are Rockwell-esque.
That was a compliment at one time and then somehow Rockwell was deemed an illustrator not a 'real artist so it became a non-compliment.
I think, now, it's back the other way and it's 'okay' to refer to him as an 'artist', so, now it's a compliment again ;)
your paintings rock.
