"Seeing Red"

9 x 12"

oil on masonite

sold

I wanted to do a very special piece for an upcoming Small Works Show at the Howard/Mandville Gallery, so I chose an image with a beautiful, strong red. Hopefully to catch someone's eye amidst a large group of paintings. I like it very much. These were two, what I gathered, best girlfriends, enjoying time together in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

This is so enjoyable to see and the very thing you do so well. I love it. Interesting comment about the color red...I believe it's true. In retail it's called 'shelf appeal'...something that jumps off the shelf at you.

I love your 'art patron' paintings. They are very inspiring. I am amazed with what you can do on a 9x12 canvas. The pose of the little girls is both realistic and darling.

Ah Red...my favorite colour but one that I think is very difficult to capture in paint, this is great, I hope it really does jump out at them for the small painting show.

Hadn't checked in a while, so am pleased to see that you're still on top of your incredible game! How do you do it? I especially loved your study of the Corot piece. Love that it's such your signature style.

This one is fabulous, the red certainly draws the eye, but not so much that one misses the glorious pose you have going in the girls. Well done :)

Hello Ms. Jurick,

I purchased your Seeing Red. I loved the colors you used, but most importantly, the two girls. Your composition was wonderful. I will enjoy this piece for ever. I look forward to your future pieces and i'll be sure to pick up at least one more.
