"Princess Scribbles"

6 x 6"

oil on masonite

sold

Looking for inspiration, I headed up to Chattanooga on a whim, figuring an arts festival would be a great place for people-watching. Blessed with a clear, sunny day - I saw shadows everywhere, including this one with a delightful, little tiara to top it off.

Lush, lovely, happy, sunny, loose, shadowey, perfect.
I more often than not paint on black too, I find it helps me see the colours better.

These are all great. You are a wonderful painter. I love the subjects in the galleries. My only question is why the 6" X 6" size? It seems awfully small and for me personally I'm not a fan of trying to compose in a square - I admit I've leared a lot from looking at your square compositions. Does it have to do with eBay or shipping or maybe you just have a giant stack of 6X6's sitting in the corner waiting for you?

Pa-Pow! Another beauty! fantastic rich color and bold brushwork here. Very strong gesture. Seriously well done.
