I'm almost at the end of my series ATL to NYC & Back - and I just painted one of my personal favorites. I love it when that happens.
This is quintessential Bloomfield, New Jersey - little grandma houses in old neighborhoods. I love those old homes. We met up with our car, which was parked for free while we were in New York City, said thanks to a good friend, and we were soon on our way.

Is this Bloomfield NJ ?? I used to live there. Love the painting.
It is - you just reminded me I forgot to add New Jersey.
beautiful painting which has a very soothing color scheme...
Very nice! i love it...
The light and shows are fabulous, Karin! I love how you've depicted this sweet home -- I want to live there!
this is so America-great painting.
This reminded me of my grandmothers house. When I was a kid I used to mow her lawn. Funny that you called these grandma houses. Fantastic. I remember thinking New Jersey had some of the same feel of the Northwest when I visited there.
In addition to great painting abilities you have such incredible drawing skills!. Your perspectives are just perfect!!
A painting of a house can be boring or.. like this. What a fabulous use of values and composition!
:) Ciao
Oh my goodness . . . you are SO RIGHT . . . at first glance I thought this actually WAS my grandma's house! What a great painting! :)
fabulous!!!
Love your paintings!!!!!
Oh so lovely and just perfect. The house could have been in the Midwest, too.
Oh this reminds me of being a little girl in humid summers. Love it. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Karen, I admire everything you do. But what fascinates me is I can usually spot a super winner among your paintings. I can see some difference in charm level, appeal of the subject to the viewer. I'm so intrigued by this and wonder if you are aware of factors that make a painting stand out among your others. Doing your class in S.F. and can't WAIT to ask you more about this.
