"Flooded"

6 x 6"
oil on panel
sold

This was a study I did in the spring and decided to hang on to it - but this seems like the right time to offer it on auction to raise money.

I donated the proceeds to the Red Cross Louisiana Flood Relief Fund - join me in an effort to help our friends in need.  To donate directly to the Red Cross Flood Relief Fund, click here.

A good friend of mine walks his dog Max on this beautiful path every day - one of the pleasures of living in North Georgia.

Have a lovely Thanksgiving, my friends.

"Sharp Right"

4 x 4"
oil on masonite
sold

From a way-back road in the farmlands outside of Lancaster - someone's little slice of heaven with beautiful trees and a tire swing to boot. I thought it odd there was a yellow line telling me to stay in my lane but no warning sign of the sharp right ahead. Goofy.

"Four O Four"

16 x 8"
oil on masonite
sold

The upcoming group show at 16 Patton is all about landscapes - which does push me to paint what I normally don't on a larger scale. And I do think all of those little daily paintings of houses and more rural scenes prepared me for doing a better job here. Please come see it at the gallery in the fall months - it's a sweet painting in person.

From the Delaware countryside, off US Hwy 404, someone's little slice of heaven.

"Wired"

6 x 6"
oil on masonite
sold

Forgive the lapse in painting - I took a break and actually had some holiday fun, then caught a bad cold. That's what I get. I'd like to think that wouldn't stop me from working, but it resulted in a mess. The brain just didn't work. Slowing climbing out of it - good enough to enjoy painting this little, white, grandma house - which is right around the corner from where I live. Whether it's the morning or evening sun hitting the stark white, it always captures my attention. Especially set in front of the huge wall of dark trees, my eyes (going 45 mph) get a fast glimpse of whites, blues, greens and multitudes of wires.

"Tree"

6 x 6"

Okay........ this is a hard subject to paint. Yikes. I'm one to break for trees. I am in awe of them, especially isolated in a field, as if it owns the property. This mighty oak was spotted on a drive west of Austin. A Texas tree.

"Schmidtzinsky Road"

6 x 6"
oil on masonite
sold

I'm back in my studio - so very happy to be painting again. I thought I'd jump right in and continue with my alphabet series and I'll bet you never predicted S being Schmidtzinsky Road. I flew past the sign, on my drive out to Fredericksburg, just west of Austin, and vowed to catch it on the way back. How could you not? Here's a sweet, old homestead tucked back on that lovely little road.

Continuing on with the alphabet, B is for Backroad - in the rural, blissful countryside of Georgia, with a touch of autumn.

"Are The Stars Out Tonight"

20 x 8"

oil on masonite

sold

This new painting reveals something you don't see in the small piece done a few days ago - the old shed lit up in a great, citrus green hue, as well as the thick trees above the light. There is a hint of a clear, starry sky done in a purple/navy tone, slightly visible beyond the thickness of trees. This was great fun to paint.
