"Wine Drive"

6 x 6"
oil on panel
sold

I'd say, with all the miles we drove across the country and back, tooling through the wine country was the most Zen driving we experienced.  It was mid-April, early in the growing season, still spectacular.  This was along California 29, between St. Helena and Napa.

"Wine Cooler"

5 x 7"

I was in need of some warming up this morning - there's been a stretch of days without being able to paint. Part of that is I live in the Deep South and constantly brag that I don't need a winter coat. Well..... not this winter. My little studio isn't built for such temperatures. I've had to find other things to get done. I gave that up today after surrounding myself with space heaters. A girl's gotta work.

This is loose, fluid and rich in oils. Just how I love to paint. From the Art Institute of Chicago, during an evening event, a young lady cooling her heels with a glass of wine.

While I've got you here....... I've got an official date for the opening of a dual show with Ken Auster, who's work has been a huge influence for me and a painter whom I've admired for years. And let me entice you a little more - it's at the beach. Maybe you can pitch your winter coat and join us March 26th, at the Morris & Whiteside Gallery on Hilton Head Island.

"Higher-Ups"

5 x 7"

oil on masonite

sold

I thought I'd do a small series of party-goers. The setting was very swank, an art/wine event in a beautiful home here in Atlanta where selected artworks, from local galleries, hung all around the rooms and halls, including two of my paintings.

"Rosebud's on Rush"

6 x 6"

Hello all - I'm back home, rested and now that I've caught up at work, I'm happy to say I'm painting again. Oh how I missed it.

As you may know, I spent three days in Chicago - it was fantastic. The weather was perfect, the people were out in droves and I was envisioning paintings just about everywhere I looked. This new painting pretty much depicts the beginning of my adventure - as I arrived in the city early in the evening, starving and ready for a plate of chicken marsala at a little restaurant just around the corner from my hotel. The pressed, white tableclothes glisten in the sun, the waiters are handsome and the food is outstanding. Many more new paintings to come - I'm totally psyched.
