"Tied Up at the Moment"

6 x 6"
oil on masonite
sold

A nice companion piece for yesterday's painting 'Front Row Seat'. Although I do enjoy painting very quick, impressionistic pieces - I also take pleasure in doing more realized, more time-involved work on this subject. You'll be able to see them framed and on the walls of the Morris & Whiteside Galleries in the beginning of May, along with others.

"Mellow"

10 x 8"
oil on masonite
sold

I'm gonna tell you, painting this was my moment of Zen. Getting ready for my trip to Seattle this week - framing and packaging and shipping over 15 paintings - finding something to wear that doesn't have paint on it - I was in great need of mellowing out, not even thinking this would be perfect for the letter M in my alphabet series. It's a bit larger than the usual, 8 x 10", I wanted more empty area around her.

An additional note....... the entire body of work, for my show opening this coming Saturday night, can now be viewed on my website and on YouTube. Hope you enjoy them.

"Rehobeth Beach"

12 x 12" oil on masonite

(detail)

What goes along with experimenting is failure - which was yesterday's painting, 5 hours of work and wiped off in 30 seconds. Today was much better. It all clicked. And I'm looking at, what may be, my top 10 personal favorites. It's not the subject matter so much as it's simply how I want to paint.

This was a bright, summer day at Rehobeth Beach, Delaware - a few days before Labor Day weekend. Please click here if you'd like a larger view.
