I painted this piece in the summer of '05 - a scene I got from a flea market in rural Georgia. I remember it was a hot, hot, summer day and that ice cream looked especially good. I've held on to this painting for a good while, perhaps because it's one of my personal favorites. I remember those decisive, bold brush strokes (and a minimal amount of them) seemed to come so easily that day I painted this - a pleasant experience for any artist.
Karin, I just love how you paint. Every stroke is there for a purpose. You're very gifted. It's always amazing when I zoom in on one of your paintings. Take care, Barb
ReplyDeleteI love you use of color and your brushstrokes. Even though it takes place in Georgia where I live it reminds me of Florida. Your paintings are fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI like "Sugar Cones" too. Should artists be mindful about taking pics of people in public and later basing our paintings on them -- are we within the law? I try not to paint actual faces but their clothing of the day may be recognisable...
