I haven't painted in a few days, I've been building an ark. If you live in the southeast, you'll understand. And I needed some warming up, adding a new portrait to my ongoing series BUST-ED.
Love your busted series and it occurred to me today when seeing this one that your paintings remind me of Ray Turner portraits. He paints most of his with oil on glass and there is an exhibit right now here in Wichita at the museum.
The way you can see the red background in the eyes of your portrait are similar to the effect of Rays work. The background colors he uses seems to light up the whole character. Then put all those square portraits in row after row, and row on top of row...it makes quite a show. I think I read he's made 500 of them so far!!
Another amazing mug!

Yours would make a great show!
And a great one it is. Sorry about the ark--there's a lot of them floating around this summer.
