"Back To Back"

I painted one more for the road, (I think it's one of my personal favorites). My boyfriend saw a more have-and-have-not pair here, which is pretty interesting. So..... I'm heading back to Chicago for some inspiration and going to my 30th high school reunion to relive the disco days. Lots to do leading up to it all. I hope to see you back here around the 29th.

Taken from a bench in the Art Institute of Chicago, where weary patrons sit for a spell. Especially the husbands.

    This is wonderful, Karin!! I love the scene and what a great idea. I also like your BF's idea too. Wish I had known you'd be out here this week; maybe could have met you for lunch or something. Just wondering where you went to HS. I graduated from Reavis in '77. Hope you have a good time at your reunion. I finally got to go to one of my own a couple of years ago.

    I have a lot of experience sitting on those benches mostly at the MMA in NYC. Your painting brought back great memories of the times I sat down and would ponder a painting and then the person I was sitting besides or back to back with. This painting is powerful because it so easily creates a story in ones imagination.

    Karin, I have only just discovered your website and think your artwork is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I am a very frustrated painter who stopped painting while training to be an architect 15 years ago!!! I used to do watercolour but if I could I would give my eyeteeth to paint oils in your style. I wish you lived in South Africa so I could buy some of your pieces! I will be following your work avidly and painting vicariously through you!! Regards Julie
