Before I forget to mention ..... I've finally found the best brand for white and black. I've never been thrilled with any of the many brands I've tried. Made by Daniel Smith Artist Materials, it's their Titanium White - the Ivory Black and the Lamp Black are great too. Thought I'd pass that along.
This new painting is a glimpse into my day. When I have my cup of coffee and my crossword puzzle, all is right with the world.
Great piece! You have captured a terrific moment quite expertly. I like the look of your mornings. :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite you have done so far. It is so real and down to Earth.
ReplyDeleteThis painting makes me so happy. I've already spent a while lingering over its juicy detail, and I imagine I'll spend a while more... Your paintings are always an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful picture!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice Sunday.

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely wonderful painting! Makes me want a cup of coffee!
ReplyDeleteMarvelous colors Karin.
ReplyDeleteIt is so interesting to see this enlarged and see just how simple your shapes are. The newspaper print is wonderful- all those gray "marks" and strokes read newspaper! Great work as always!
ReplyDeleteHi! Karin Jurick,
ReplyDeleteThe Painting entitled "Morning
Exercise" is very realistic looking and you have captured your morning "ritual" well...
...If I may say so...My right pointer finger touching my right temple as I repeat this words...Daniel Smith Artist Materials, Titanium White - the Ivory Black and the Lamp Black are great too.
Thanks, for sharing your painting and the tip!

I love this one! (no, not just coffee and crosswords, but truly a lovely painting!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a restful way to start a day. Love the rendition of the crosswords.
ReplyDeleteThis painting is wonderful. Not only is it beautifully done, but it's 2 of my favorite things!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Karin, but I would imagine painting and doing the crossword simultaneously is really slow.
ReplyDeleteI really like the way you handled the reflections here.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Looks like a morning indeed.. You captured the right scenery, I think. Especially the coffee. Nice piece!
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how we as artists find the particular subtleties of a brand of paint-- stiff, loose, butteryness, tint strength, etc-- fit our particular styles and approaches. I for one am stuck on Winton #40 (titanium)for my white, but love Daniel Smith's burnt sienna above all others...
ReplyDelete(nice painting Karin!)
wonderful paintings you have done,mindblowing!
ReplyDeleteis a very good one !!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful light, nice intense color
ReplyDeleteThat's an amazing painting. I've been looking for a few months now, and I had to comment on this one. It's just perfect.
