Our sweet Petey passed away today. He was a great companion, so smart, so eager to please and always kept me company while I painted. He had a good life.
Sorry for your loss. One of our two beloved dogs died three years ago. It was very hard. This past August we became a two dog home again. Our thoughts are with you. Petey looked like a charmer.
Karin, I am so sorry about Petey, our dogs bring us such joy, and it is so painful loosing them. I know Petey was a lucky and happy dog. My thoughts are with you.
Karin, I am sorry to hear this sad news. Dogs are a true gift and have made the lives of many a human so much more bearable. May your memories of him be strong and everlasting.
Oh, I'm so sorry, Karin. I know you'll miss Petey in every time and place he filled, but he'll always be in your studio. You'll know he's still there every time you look at this sweet portrait.
I'm so sorry that you have lost your beloved companion, Petey. The painting of him is charming and sweet, and will hopefully be a constant reminder of his special place in your life.

Karin, I am so sorry for your loss- I have been thinking of you and knew that Petey was not doing well. I am in tears for you and my heart is still so sad over my recent loss of Maggie- I can only hope that they are up in heaven playing and not hurting anymore. Hugs and love for you and Brett- Take care of each other!
I am so sorry that Petey is gone. I wish you great comfort over the next couple of weeks. Time will heal the pain and bring back the wonderful memories you have of "Our Petey".
Thank you for making all of our lives better. Mary Nixon
So sorry for your loss. My beautiful friend and studio pal, Willow, died a month ago as well, and I know how rough this time is. Hopefully Petey will visit in your dreams soon!
All of us who have suffered loss of dear pets, truly Karin, our hearts go out to you. As you said, he lived a great life. Dr. Seuss said, "Don't cry because it's over, Smile because it happened." This quote helped me get through some of those losses and I'm certain he was glad he was in your company all that time as well.
Dearest Karin, My heart was saddened by your news. I understand the love of four legged children since I have five little ones. Four I sought and one I rescued. You are such a talented artist and his eyes in your portrait says it all. I will pray for you to get through your loss. I follow your posts every single day, you are family too. I am so sorry. Petey is a doll!
So sorry for your loss Karin. It is indeed one of life's toughest times when we lose our dear pets! Wishing you comfort & that Petey will visit in your dreams.
Karin, I am truly sorry for your loss of Petey. What a darling little face! My little Belvedere is my 'studio buddy' and I know how much he would be missed. Your memories of Petey will last FOREVER. You BOTH were so very lucky to have know each other. My thoughts are with you now.
Hi, Karin, I am so sad to learn about your Petey. No matter how long you have a pet it is never long enough. I can tell by your painting how much he was loved. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I will go give my old dog an extra hug.
and isn't this where it all started............a tribute to a dog's passing several years ago that started your blog, started all of us paying attention to you.............
what a gorgeous tribute to Petey, a portrait by Karin.
I have an oil painting of our two wondrous dogs that a friend was kind enough to do. I still tear up when I think about them. There's no more wonderful thing than the love we give and get from our puppies.
So sorry about Petey crossing the rainbow bridge! It is very hard... I totally empathize - my cat is getting old, and I dread the day that will come. Hugs to you!
So sorry to hear of your loss, Karin. I went through the same thing on Feb 24, 2010. My little painting partner left a huge hole, but a little at a time, it's filling up with heartwarming memories. Memories can last forever.
Your painting of Petey is a fine tribute to your friend.
There is SO much grief when you lose a pet that you love. You don't realize how much you rely on their companionship and devotion, and just 'being there' with you to keep you company... They don't ask for much, and yet they give so unselfishly of their dedication to those they love... Bye to Petey, a very loved little guy !!
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. The fur members of the family sustain and love us in ways even we do not understand. I am sure Petey had a wonderful life by your side. It is so hard to say goodbye. Take care.
