"All Over the Map"

This is one of those paintings that I'd like to keep for my own. I'm completely in love with it. But ..... painting is my livelihood and the best I can hope for is they all get a good home.

From the upper floor of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

    Excellently executed as usual but most of all I love the subject - I've been in that lady's position so many times! Once again you've tapped the human condition, you ROCK!

    Karin, you amaze me! You capture the slightest gesture that really makes the painting tell a story. I had the great joy of seeing your work in person at the Asheville gallery. Loved them even more in person. I saw quite a few red dots. Congrats.

    I don't get to comment very often because, like most people I imagine, I get all your new work by RSS feed.
    I just had to come to your blog to say how much I love what you're doing.
    The limited palate and the detail of that balustrade make this piece so appealing. The figure is so spot on. I wish I knew why your people always look so naturally posed.

    I'd have to say that this is also a favorite of mine too. The texture gives it a look of real plaster on those walls, the colors also lending to that feeling. I find myself just awed by the architecture and wanting to see this place now!

    Some things can't be exchanged for money, and I supect you will always remember this piece with a small pang of regret if you let it go. I believe it is really important to keep some of our best work along the way for our own collection, they act as cheerleaders on our down days, and they become an important and meaningful collection for your family down the road.
