As you can see, my friend's dog, Bernie is usually out front doing his job of either welcoming visitors ..... or not. He's like a massive sculpture in the sunshine, I couldn't wait to paint him.

Like this one a lot. I also love the bicycles and the cityscapes. Oh yeah, and the beach scenes, etc....... Your work is exceptional.
ReplyDeleteBernie looks huge and you've done a great job in capturing that size and his expression. Wonderful, vibrant colors. Well done!
ReplyDeleteLove the Saint Bernard!!
ReplyDeleteYou just make it look so easy when it isn't. Love the lavenders in the shadows of the white fur.
ReplyDeleteThe lighting and texture of the fur is fantastic! What a perfect sunny spot :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful St. Bernard! Bernie is one handsome boy and I hope this painting goes to your friend after your show.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of a dog like this I once knew named Clarence.
ReplyDeleteYour work is beautiful - I love the little snip-its of life you choose to paint.
What a dog!! Great Expression on his massive face! I also love the way he has comfortably folded his big body. Is he friendly? He's approachable looking..
ReplyDeleteCritters are such great subject matter. I love your expressive brush strokes on his coat and I love how you captured his expression. What a joy
ReplyDeletewhat a great painting! I really love this one!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great job on this big guy's coat Karin, you really captured all the twists and turns of it. Also love the brushwork you used to suggest the grass, reminder that even on a small panel there's lots of room to tell a story.
ReplyDeletesuper duper!
ReplyDeleteI love him!!!! Great painting!
