"One For The Books"

It's time for me to plug my new paintings - now on exhibit at the Howard/Mandville Gallery in Kirkland, right outside of Seattle. The opening is this Saturday night, please come by and see it all in person. Try as I might to get a great image on the web, it doesn't compare to seeing the real thing. I also have a new video on YouTube, featuring all the work, accompanied by some happy music by Dean Martin.

As you might know, I love to paint people reading and when I really lose my mind, I paint people browsing in bookstores. Quite the challenge. This was taken from the gift shop in the Museum of Fine Arts Boston.

    beatiful painting, as always! I know the spot...that bookstore is always brimming full of books...my favorite spot in the city!

    I've spent many an hour browsing bookstores that look like this--so it evokes a very familiar, warm feeling. The work is lovely!

    I love, love LOVE this! The blues in the window make me happy. It evokes that "kid in a candy store" feeling that I get when I walk into a bookstore.

    You're funny - I like how you said "when I lose my mind" to explain taking on a hard subject. The painting looks awesome though. All of those spines and lines, eek! Intimidating. Good for you - love watching your blog.
