Also included in the upcoming May show - a cityscape of Seattle at the corner of Pike Street and First Avenue, right at the opening of the Pike Place Market. I had taken a cab to the market early in the evening and started my hike back to the hotel - delighted with the break in the clouds and this gorgeous, dusky, peachy light - dispelling the myth that Seattle is always rainy and gray.

Wow! The light is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteSimply incredible. How lucky you caught such a beautiful evening in Seattle!
ReplyDeleteHi Karin,
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous.
Take care,
Barbara
I like this painting very much, in a different way I liked the others I commented previously. There's a different feeling on everyone.
ReplyDeleteReally like your depiction of 1st & Pike. I worked in an office just 4 blocks west of that intersection. I lived in Seattle over 29 years & can vouch that it doesn't rain a lot - just frequent sprinkles/mists. In the summer the only gray is our lawns.
ReplyDeleteNow retired in NW Arkansas & lovin' it.

Love the atmosphere on this one. Great job!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Karin! These cityscapes of yours are my favorites. The light in this one is so wonderfully evocative of a spring evening ... I can almost feel the chill in the air!
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely beautiful. The amazing light and reflections really bring this urban landscape to life!
ReplyDeleteHi Karen:
ReplyDeleteI love your street scenes. This one is particularly lovely.

Wow. Amazing. I can feel the humidity in the air and hear the bustle of the downtown businesses. Wow. You really have a talent.
ReplyDeletelove this and the rich jewel tones you favor.
ReplyDeleteLove this Karin. Your street scenes are my favorite (especially since this is one of the best spots - near Pike Place Market!).
ReplyDeleteI'm from Seattle and I've walked this corner many times - you really captured that golden light we get at the end of the day. I can't wait to visit the Howard/Mandville Gallery to see your work in person!
