"Red Carpet"

12 x 12"
oil on masonite
sold

This is one of those 'must see in person' pieces - it's the red. I was bored with the brush strokes of the carpet at first - it wasn't quite enough. So I scraped on more reds with the edge of a business card and the color became more vivid, more textured and more realistic. Very, very cool. I love it.

  4. This painting is out of this world.
The contrast of the red with the green
chair is exceptional. The the red
shores, and glow on the woman's skin
knocks the whole thing right out of the park. Wow!

  17. I think what I like best about this painting is that I don't know as I am entering the area in which the subject is seated whether or not she is staring off in another direction or directly at me to deliver some news of some sort. Kind of suspenseful!

  18. I just checked out one of your painting movies, very cool! It's especially fascinating to watch you paint with such a large brush on a small panel. Smart way to paint.
