This is one of those 'must see in person' pieces - it's the red. I was bored with the brush strokes of the carpet at first - it wasn't quite enough. So I scraped on more reds with the edge of a business card and the color became more vivid, more textured and more realistic. Very, very cool. I love it.

That's totaly awesome. I'm going to have to study those sleeves. D'oh, someone just out bid me for the bean painting. Must have been some CEO.
I just love the idea of using a business card to add a little "extra something!" Very nice!
this one is a breath taking.I Love red and you did it so well.
superb!
This painting is out of this world.
The contrast of the red with the green
chair is exceptional. The the red
shores, and glow on the woman's skin
knocks the whole thing right out of the park. Wow!

Hi Karin,
Sorry that should read "The red shoes,"not "the the red shores"
Going too fast. Love your work.

This is Gorgeous!!!!!
This is gorgeous! I would love to see it in person.
Karin, adding that bright red was a stroke of genius (no pun necessarily intended). Way to go....
Love the red not only in the carpet, but also in the shadows!
What can I say? This is absolutely stunning! The composition, paint application and color....wow...wow....wow.!!!
Love the red and the color of the chair and especially the woman's posture!
I agree this is one amazing painting!!.. really cool
this is amazing.Your red carpet treatment has made a great differnce I believe.Good (card)business!
Love the red too and the way you applied the brush strokes. A business card for a brush?! So cool.
VERY NICE JOB ! The textures of the carpet is perfect, great composition.
Beautiful piece with the design and colors just right.
Gorgeous light!
Caravaggio would have loved this painting.
I think what I like best about this painting is that I don't know as I am entering the area in which the subject is seated whether or not she is staring off in another direction or directly at me to deliver some news of some sort. Kind of suspenseful!
I just checked out one of your painting movies, very cool! It's especially fascinating to watch you paint with such a large brush on a small panel. Smart way to paint.
