Walk through Millennium Park in Chicago - and I'll bet you'll not be bored. On a bright, sunny day - people are everywhere - and in my eyes, I see many possibilities for paintings. Simple settings, with light and color giving me what I desire.
also....... Week 2's challenge is wrapping up tonight for my Different Strokes From Different Folks blog with 68 different versions of a photograph I post for reference. I am thrilled with the response and all of the unique, personal interpretations. Thanks to all the artists who took on this week's project - let's do it again with this photo for Week 3.

Good call changing his shoes Karin, but you captured his mood and intent to read the paper. Love the glow!
ReplyDeleteKarin - thanks for doing the work involved with the weekly photo posting (and posting all 68). Its nice to see them all on one blog. Your personal bog is really nice and your work is very inspiring to me....
ReplyDeleteKarin - I love your work and this "Different Strokes" idea - love it!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch strong radiant light. Even the newspaper seems to glow with it. These strokes are to die for. Seems like I can almost read the paper.
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this painting.
ReplyDeleteWonderful light, great colour,
superb design.

This is fabulous, and I'm a huge fan, Karen. Tell me, have you been traveling (Chicago, Savannah, etc) or do you just have an extensive photo library?
ReplyDeleteHi Karen,
ReplyDeleteI too love you paintings. They feel so boldly executed. May I ask you about your process? Do you do pencil/oil sketches on site? Do you take photos on site and work from these? Your people have such a spontaneous feel.
