You may recognize this man reading the paper - I had painted a small, daily piece of this scene. Going larger, I included more of the surroundings, which makes us wonder what happens next? Either it's turning the page or perhaps the two strike up a conversation.

Karin, Your paintings are breath taking. The detail in the 'repro' museum paintings is just insane and the flow of color and design is masterful.

I think one of the most compelling features of this painting, is the concealed identity of the individual behind the paper.
As a painting device, the imposed "barrier" cleverly heightens the curiosity of the viewer !
Another beautiful composition and great color combination.
I love the title! The what happens next narrative makes me want to linger. Not to mention, very well painted as always.
