Continuing on with the alphabet, F is for Fish Head - admittedly something I never eat, but find it a beautiful subject to paint because it includes every color in the rainbow.

  1. Very nice job with the fish head Karin. Love the colors and you did a good job of suggesting the scales without painting every one.
Good choice for the letter "F".

  2. This made me smile. I didn't expect to see a "fish head". I expected someone to be looking at a fish. Ah, surprises. I love 'em.

  3. Oh, it is a great painting and as Frank said, the eye fills in the scales. Nice.

  4. Went to Atlanta over the holidays and made a point of going to the Twinhouse Gallery . . . sorry to say - there were no works by Karin Jurick.

    Maybe next time.

  5. Just a note about the gallery work..... the links to current pieces in each gallery are on the right column, on this blog. I appreciate you going by Twinhouse to look.

  6. hi karin,

i like your paintings a lot... it was very interesting to see your upload on youtube of paint in progress...

however, the "mixing the palette" video does not load properly on your website... i wonder if you can upload this on youtube as well.

    keep painting : )

  7. Beautiful fish head. You really captured the shininess of the fish. Great special effect that is depicted wet-on-wet. It reminds me of the fish painting demonstrations that William Merritt Chase did for his students.
