"Angles & Curves"

8 x 10"

oil on masonite

sold

I was interested in painting a piece that had many tints of white - this was a great scene for that - the young woman wearing light, summer white cotton, surrounded by white walls barely tinted with warmth and a marble floor barely reflecting what color falls on it. I believe the painting she is viewing is by Piet Mondrian, which hangs in the Art Institute of Chicago.

  1. Yes you've done well with the whites here Karen but I also really admire the way you have put the figure's head directly in front of the dark canvas. I know you have done this deliberately and it works really well. It was a risk but you have carried it off. It makes for an unusual painting and I like it.

  2. I love the name of this piece. I like titles that make you think before you fully understand it.

I enjoyed looking at your work - talented.
