Back to my observations in San Francisco - I had dinner with a good friend in a very cool little French restaurant on Grant Avenue called Cafe de la Presse.
Recently someone asked me what I really yearn to paint and I think the answer would be the life inside of restaurants. Everything from the diners to the waitstaff to the cooks. There's something about the warmth of the interiors I particularly love as well as the handsome vision of a waiter.
This is very nice. So warm and inviting.
ReplyDeleteExcellent.....I have to agree. Warm colors, and great handling of the light. Another winner!
ReplyDeleteWhat's stopping you? Paint the restaurants -- they'll be great!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful compostition. Such a strong vertical element in this one. Love the relaxed pose of the waitress with the with the warm incandescent lighting above. Terrific painting.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing stopping me from painting this more is the occasion to take candid photos. It's a rare thing to get away with it. I read it's because of all the food bloggers. I'm always looking for the right opportunity though.
