If You Can Drive In There, You Can Drive In Anywhere
I hate to be dramatic about it, but driving into New York City has got to be the most nerve-racking thing I've ever experienced. Yikes! I will never complain again about the traffic in Atlanta. Hands down, this metropolis takes the prize. I made it, safe and sound - the rest of my time here will gladly be on foot or in a cab. Whew.
First thing I gravitated towards was a hot pretzel which was about the size of my head. Had to get that out of my system right away - then onto Bryant Park, which is one of the best people watching spots.
Time to rest ..... it's been a l-o-n-g day. Over and out.

I can't wait to see what you do with all the photos you are surely taking! Have fun, stay safe!
Karin,
I would rather drive in NYC than in Atlanta after is snows a little bit :)
Kinda makes Chicago look like Mayberry huh?
awfully cruel of you to post such a delicious photo of that pretzel...i could almost taste it :)
have a fabulous time!
We went to NYC a couple of weeks ago! You are absolutely right about the traffic!!! There was another bomb scare while we were there too, so traffic was being redirected in our direction, then a policeman tried to ticket us while we were stuck half way out in the street when the light turned red! People cross the streets anyway- all around your car!! Ei ei ei! Next time I am taking a train into the city! -But it is an interesting place once you get there!!
Mmmm, I so love hot pretzels. Yummy! I hate driving in downtown Chicago and I imagine New York is even worse!! Buses, cabs, Sunday drivers. Ei yi yi! Glad you got to relax and bit and people watch!
As many times I have been to NYC I never have been tempted to drive there. (and I can drive perfectly well in Los Angeles) I have no doubt you will find inspirational views.
NYC is always exciting! Have a great time - AND a safe time!
Looking forward to more photos and your paintings!
Looks like great weather for your trip. Wonderful city. Lucky you!
I am excited to see your pictures. Your work inspires me!
Last time we drove there, I was hanging onto the door handle for dear life. No way could I ever drive that. Phew is right. Glad you made it safely, safe return as well. Know you're going to be getting some super shots. Have fun!
Oh, Karin - you are a brave girl! I only will drive in NYC if there is no choice, and I MUST have a GPS. And never at rush hour. As a matter of fact I think 5:30 a.m. is the only civilized time to drive there! Enjoy! I look forward to seeing what comes of your trip!
Another great people watching spot is the children's playground next to the MET.
I love your works! Looking forward to more paintings.
By the way, I'm a dog lover and I'm glad to see those nice dog paintings.
Hi Karin, Yes, have a great time! I know I would be terrified to drive in NY, you are brave. Be safe
