Hi Karin, Welcome back, your work is better than ever. Take care of your self, burnout is no fun, and a great loss to us. I love the composition in this one. Suzanne
Your paintings are bright and gorgeous! Do you know Colin Page.? He too has a wonderful palette. I saw your U Tube thingy on your color palette. Holy cadmium!...you use a lot of colors! I'm an old timey watercolor painter who has been doing acrylic now for about 4 years. I have to exert a whole lot of patience mixing colors, and therefore keep my palette somewhat limited. I'm going to be posting two portraits I'm completing (in about a week) using a new acrylic product by Golden called Golden Open". Sure would like to get your feedback if you have the time. Wonderful work, Karen!
“It seems to me very important to the idea of true democracy - to my country - and to the world eventually - that all men and women stand equal under the sky...” - Georgia O’Keeffe
"You should keep on painting no matter how difficult it is, because this is all part of experience, and the more experience you have, the better it is... unless it kills you, and then you know you have gone too far." ~ Alice Neel
"If I had the energy, I would have done it all over the country" - Edward Hopper
"It's what you carry to an object that counts." - Andrew Wyeth

Just love the shadow in this one Karin, and the composition.

I really like this. She feels like she's in the sunshine. You're good!

You are such a master of the simplified shapes.
The few strokes of paint on the inside of the front wheel give it motion.
My first visit to your blog. I like the way you take a simple subject and with few important brush strokes tell the story.
it sings with life :D
I love this painting. How hard is working on masonite?
