oil on masonite

Oh.... I do apologize for being somewhat absent from my post. Indeed, it is a busy time of the year - between managing my business and working hard at getting all the pieces done for my upcoming show in February - I'm about ready for a do-nothing-day in my pajamas.
This painting is one of the works included in the show - it is one of twelve, which are all finished and I am dying to show you all of them, but, alas, I promised not to. I'm now at the point when I can concentrate on a few sets of smaller pieces, which I love to do.
Please click here for a larger view.
I know you all are busy too - hope your holiday time is pleasant - don't forget to consider a bid on the "Glory Be" painting, currently on auction. It's for a great cause.

I love this painting!
I am so jealous that it's going to the Gallery, but know that it's a hint of how strong that show will be. That passionate red dress in front of a marine painting makes me think of the many women who are often left by sailors "holding the bag". I hope you change your mind(by some miracle) and post it on Ebay or do a smaller painting with the same model.
Oh wow. I love that 'many women who are often left..." observation. Good thinking Alice.
Beautiful painting, Karin! Just wanted to let you know that you've been tagged on my blog (no pressure to play along.) Thanks for being an inspiration!
The red dress makes such a statement I had to go back again to enjoy your artwork on the wall. You have spoiled us posting almost daily. It is hard to go so long without a Karin's painting fix! I hope we'll be able to see the other 11 paintings once your show launches in Feb.
This is just a superb jewel of a painting. I keep coming back to look at it- it's so compelling and free and yet says so much with detail.
I found you through Brad Bisbeys' site and I can easily see why he's selected you as an artist he admires. Now, so do I.
Good luck with your show coming up- how could anyone resist buying them all!
